Celebrities love their expensive cars, but have you ever wondered which particular makes and models take their fancy? some celebrities opt for the cheap run around cars, and blend seamlessly into society as they take a trip to the local shops or to pick their kids up from school, while others prefer chauffeurs and to drive glitzy super cars, convertibles or four wheel drives around the capital and the surrounding countryside. Sir Stirling Moss, born in the nineteen twenties and a motor driver doesn't drive a road car, but a three wheeled scooter. His motor racing career has spanned decades and he is well known and respected in racing circles. His first car was an Austin seven for his off road driving, and for on the roads, a Morgan three wheeler. He always keeps an A - Z of London in his glove compartment in case of emergency, and loves to drive along listening to Barbra Streisand and Frank Sinatra.
Arlene Phillips, judge on Strictly Come Dancing prefers to drive a Suzuki Swift to get her from A to B, but her first car was a white fiat 500. In her glove box she keeps loose change for parking and a spare lipstick. Slightly less practical that Sir Stirling Moss!
Charley Boorman is normally more at home on motorbikes, having competed in the Dakar rally and accompanying Ewan McGregor on the long way down and the long way round. His first bike was a Yamaha, which his children also learnt to ride on. His best music to listen to when driving is something chilled and relaxing, like Jamiroquai or the Stereophonics.
James Caan of Dragons Den fame drives a massive Austin with personalised number plates reading ‘JC' which is often seen cruising around St John's Wood (where he lives) and the surrounding areas.
